Acceptable Use Policy
Last Updated: 30 July 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP" or "Policy") describes the rules and standards that all members and visitors must follow when accessing or using FaithConnect, a Christian matchmaking and introduction platform operated by Youth With A Global Vision (Company No. 05458750; Charity No. 1142251) ("FaithConnect," "we," "us," or "our"). This Policy forms part of, and is incorporated into, our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.
By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to comply with this Policy. Violations may result in content removal, feature restrictions, account suspension or termination, and, where appropriate, referral to law enforcement. We may update this Policy at any time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
1. Purpose of the Platform
FaithConnect exists to help professing Christians pursue serious, marriage-focused relationships through verified profiles, guided introductions, and faith-based support. You agree to use the Platform only for this purpose and in a manner consistent with Christian values, honesty, and mutual respect.
2. Permitted Use
You may use the Platform to:
- Create a truthful, verified profile representing yourself;
- Express interest in other members and participate in guided introductions;
- Engage respectfully with matches, mentors, and the community;
- Access workshops, courses, counselling, and other services offered.
3. Prohibited Conduct
You must not, and must not encourage or assist others to:
- Upload, post, share, store, link to, or otherwise distribute any Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) — including any image, video, text, or other content that depicts, describes, or promotes the sexual abuse or exploitation of any person under the age of 18, whether real or simulated. FaithConnect maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy toward CSAM. Any such content will be removed immediately upon discovery, the responsible account will be permanently terminated without notice, and the matter will be reported to the relevant law enforcement authorities, including the UK's National Crime Agency (NCA) and the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF). FaithConnect does not knowingly allow any person under 21 to create an account, and we are committed to protecting minors from all forms of sexual exploitation and abuse;
- Facilitate human trafficking or sexual trafficking through the Platform — including recruiting, transporting, harbouring, transferring, or receiving any person by means of coercion, deception, abuse of vulnerability, or force for the purpose of sexual exploitation, forced labour, or any form of modern slavery. FaithConnect strictly prohibits any use of the Platform to connect, arrange, or enable the trafficking or sexual exploitation of any person, and such conduct will result in immediate account termination and referral to the relevant law enforcement authorities;
- Engage in scam or fraudulent activity designed to defraud users — including creating accounts, profiles, or communications with the intent to deceive, manipulate, or defraud other members or FaithConnect, soliciting money or financial information under false pretences, romance scams, advance-fee fraud, impersonation for financial gain, or any other scheme intended to obtain money, property, or personal data from members through deception. FaithConnect will terminate any account used for fraudulent purposes, may cancel associated subscriptions without refund, and report such conduct to law enforcement and relevant authorities;
- Use the Platform for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose, or in violation of any applicable law or third-party right;
- Provide false, misleading, inaccurate, or incomplete information, or impersonate or misrepresent another person or your faith;
- Create an account if you are under 21, or if you have been previously removed from the Platform;
- Contact or interact with any member in a manner that is harassing, threatening, intimidating, abusive, defamatory, or demeaning;
- Stalk, coerce, control, exploit, or deceive any member, or attempt to do so;
- Upload, post, or share content that is unlawful, harmful, hateful, sexually explicit, violent, discriminatory, or that depicts or promotes the exploitation of minors;
- Solicit, request, or accept money, gifts, loans, investments, or any financial benefit from other members;
- Use the Platform for advertising, commercial solicitation, multi-level marketing, or to promote any business, product, or external service;
- Send unsolicited mass messages, spam, chain letters, or promotional material;
- Share another person's personal information (including contact details, location, or photos) without their consent;
- Operate multiple accounts, share login credentials, or allow another person to use your account;
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Platform, its systems, or another user's account, data, or content;
- Scrape, collect, harvest, or extract data from the Platform using automated tools, bots, crawlers, or spiders;
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the Platform;
- Introduce viruses, malware, spyware, or any other malicious or harmful code;
- Interfere with, disrupt, or overload the Platform, its servers, or the experience of other users;
- Infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of FaithConnect or any third party; or
- Facilitate or encourage any of the above.
4. Content Standards
You are solely responsible for the content you submit. All content must be accurate, lawful, and respectful. FaithConnect may review, remove, or restrict any content that, in our reasonable judgement, violates this Policy or our Terms & Conditions. We may also remove content in response to a valid legal request.
5. Verification & Safety
To help protect the community, FaithConnect requires reference verification for active members and may carry out additional identity and safeguarding checks. You agree to cooperate honestly with these checks and to provide truthful information and documentation when requested.
6. Reporting & Blocking
You can report any concerning behaviour or content using the flag icon (🚩) on a member's profile, and you can block any user to prevent further contact. Reports are reviewed confidentially, and we may take action including warnings, content removal, feature restrictions, or account termination. For urgent safety concerns, email 📩 safety@faithconnect.love. If action is taken against you as a result of a report, you have the right to appeal — see Section 8 (Appeals Process) below for details on how to do so.
7. Enforcement
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to investigate suspected violations and to take any action we consider appropriate, including suspending or terminating access, removing content, cancelling pending introductions or subscriptions without refund where permitted, and reporting conduct to law enforcement or relevant authorities. We may suspend access immediately where we believe there is a risk to safety, the community, or the Platform.
8. Appeals Process
FaithConnect is committed to fairness and transparency. Any member who has been the subject of a decision under this Policy — including a warning, content removal, feature restriction, or account suspension or termination — has the right to appeal that decision. This includes members who have been reported by others and had action taken against them as a result.
How to appeal:
- Email our Support Team at 📩 support@faithconnect.love with the subject line "Appeal" within 14 days of receiving the decision;
- Include your full name, registered email address, and (where provided) the decision reference number;
- Provide a brief explanation of why you believe the decision was incorrect, together with any supporting information or evidence you would like us to consider; and
- Where an account has been suspended or terminated, include a statement confirming that any conduct which led to the decision has ceased, where applicable.
What happens next:
- Your appeal will be acknowledged within 5 business days of receipt;
- It will be reviewed by a team member who was not involved in the original decision, where reasonably practicable, to help ensure an impartial assessment;
- You may provide additional information or context at any stage of the review;
- We aim to resolve appeals within 14 days. Where further investigation is needed, we will keep you informed of progress and provide an estimated timeframe;
- Following the review, we will confirm the outcome in writing, which may uphold, vary, or reverse the original decision. The outcome of an appeal is final;
- Where an appeal is upheld and access is restored, we will reinstate the affected account or content and remove any associated record of the overturned action, where appropriate; and
- If you remain dissatisfied with the outcome, you may raise a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk in relation to data protection matters, or pursue other remedies available to you under applicable law.
Submitting an appeal does not automatically reinstate your account or restore removed content while the review is ongoing. Where a decision was taken to protect members from an immediate risk to safety, access may remain restricted until the appeal review concludes. Frivolous, abusive, or bad-faith appeals, or repeated appeals submitted on the same grounds without new information, may be disregarded. We will not penalise any member for submitting a genuine appeal in good faith.
9. Cooperation with Law Enforcement
We are committed to the safety of our members and the wider community. FaithConnect will cooperate with valid requests from law enforcement, regulators, and other competent authorities in accordance with applicable law. Where permitted, we may disclose member information in response to lawful requests, or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the safety, rights, or property of any person, to investigate fraud or unlawful activity, or to comply with legal obligations. We do not voluntarily share member data with third parties beyond what is described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Privacy & Data Protection
Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data in accordance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
